Fernando Caicedo is a Colombian-American singer who is most proud of his family, wife Ruth, and daughters Marcela and Daniela.  He sings simply for the joy of life, and looks forward to retiring soon so he can have more time to sing for his wife!

Jeanette Parker is no stranger to the YorVoice stage. Last year, she wowed the crowd of her rendition of "Last Dance" by Donna Summer, and earned the YorVoice 2019 Runner Up trophy. This year she'll be singing "Wild Horses" by the Rolling Stones. Jeanette has been singing since she was a child at church, weddings and local events.

Alyssa Alyanna Colon, sponsored by York Traditions Bank, is a 15 year old freshman at West York High school.  Her hobbies include all forms of art, from making music, singing, writing, drawing, painting and cooking.  She wants to thank everyone who has made this opportunity to perform at YorVoice a reality. “A special thanks goes to my parents, sister, grandparents and family for you do.  In addition, I would like to thank everyone involved with me in the local music scene (Cal Weary, Rod Goetz, Nikki Sullivan, Mrs Carli).”

YC Bloc, sponsored by York College of Pennsylvania's Center for Community Engagement, is a group that was started in the summer of 2019 by Zachary Claghorn and Le Quient Lewis II. Shortly after, Gage Shackelford joined the group. These three friends met each other in the York City music department and are all YCCOSP students currently enrolled in York College. The group performs an array of genres and plays anything from Johnny Cash to Childish Gambino. ​

Due to the need for a live band at a local charity event, Hometown Strangers, sponsored by Glatfelter Insurance Group, was born out of complete chance. HTS has a particular love for creating and writing original music and began to play more shows and expand their chemistry, skills, and fan base. In celebration of their one-year anniversary, Hometown Strangers looks toward the horizon with the creation and release of their debut studio album, set to drop in late spring. HTS is a group of musicians who were once strangers, but now have stumbled themselves into a family. Connor Manley, Kyle Noble, Laura Mae, Tucker Ball, And Trevor Kelly are Hometown Strangers.

Teagan Tatcher, sponsored by Graham Group, is a 7th grade student at York Suburban Middle school.  This is her second year performing in YorVoice. She has a passion for singing.  Teagan also enjoys playing guitar. Teagan is a 2nd degree black belt at UTA Manchester Karate.  Her dream one day is to have a music career and share her music abilities with the world.

James Manjo, sponsored by CGA Law, is a York College graduate student earning a Masters of Business Administration. Originally from Derwood, MD, Manjo moved to York, PA in 2013 to earn an undergrad degree in Music Industry at York College. He loves to sing, dance, play trombone, guitar, piano, and the drums.

See the Elephant consists of John Mayer on bass and vocals, Matt Freeman on guitar and vocals, Roger Sine on guitar and vocals and Joe Clark on drums. New to the group is Gary Scwhartz on keyboards. John and Roger are Menchey Music Employees, and all have been involved in bands or music since High School or longer.  The Brass Peanuts will join See the Elephant for this special night.  All are Menchey Music Sales Representatives and have been involved with bands throughout their lives.  They all love music and love to share it with everyone!

Who We Are

The Cultural Alliance of York County is hosting our 6th annual singing competition on March 21st from 7:30-9:30 pm at the Appell Center for Performing Arts. “YorVoice” is a friendly competition bringing the community together to enjoy listening to a night filled with talented musicians who want to share their love of music with others. The YorVoice mission is to inspire York pride, celebrate the arts and their impact on our community, highlight local talent, and most importantly, raise awareness for our 2020 Annual Campaign.

Our History

Founded as a United Arts Fund in 1999, the Cultural Alliance's annual campaign supports cultural agencies and artists that are essential to our cultural core and bring arts and culture to life in York County. Since 1999, the Cultural Alliance's annual campaign has granted $10.4 million cash and more than $2.2 million in-kind support.
